Meet the Organizer
Helllo! I am Heather Silk-Wilson, a Butte-native with a passion for markets, high quality products and the outdoors. I wanted to create an opportunity for makers and growers to sell in Butte during the week (Summer Edition) and indoors during the colder months (Winter Edition).
As parent to a young kiddo, I wanted to create a market where families could bike to the park for a picnic, pick up fresh groceries, grab a bite from a food truck, purchase gifts and enjoy a summer evening at a beautiful downtown park. While having an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy a sense of community that some of us lack (myself included) during the Winter months.
I am the owner and maker of Silk Soapery and Simply Frozen Popsicles, so I may be a familiar face from the local vendor circuit.
My beautiful family includes one sweet and spicy daughter, a wonderful husband and a furry best friend (our dog) who keeps life full of energy and laughter. We love getting outside - especially heading up to the mountains for camping trips, fresh air, and some good old-fashioned adventure. Spending time with my family and friends keeps me inspired, and I'm excited to bring that same good vibe to everything I do.
About the Market
At Butte Community Market, every season is an opportunity to gather, support local, and celebrate the heart of our community.
From warm summer evenings at the Mid Week Downtown Summer Market to cozy Saturdays at the Uptown Indoor Winter Market, our markets are designed to bring people together year-round through local food, handmade goods, art, music, and meaningful connection.
During the summer season, neighbors, visitors, farmers, makers, and small businesses gather outdoors to enjoy fresh air, community spirit, and the vibrant energy of local commerce in the heart of Butte. As winter arrives and the snow begins to fall, the market moves indoors—creating a warm and welcoming space where our community can continue to shop local, support one another, and stay connected throughout the colder months.
For vendors, our markets provide an opportunity to grow their businesses, share their craft, and connect directly with the community across every season. For shoppers, it’s a place to discover unique Butte-made products, fresh foods, handcrafted goods, and familiar faces you won’t find anywhere else.
Butte Community Market is about more than shopping—it’s about creating spaces where community thrives. As we continue to grow, we’re excited to expand opportunities for local musicians, artists, educational experiences, family activities, and partnerships that support a healthy, creative, and connected Butte.
Whether you join us in the sunshine or snowfall, there’s always a place for you at the market.
