Meet the Organizer

Helllo! I am Heather Silk-Wilson, a Butte-native with a passion for markets, high quality products and the outdoors. I wanted to create an opportunity for makers and growers to sell in Butte during the week (Summer Edition) and indoors during the colder months (Winter Edition).

As parent to a young kiddo, I wanted to create a market where families could bike to the park for a picnic, pick up fresh groceries, grab a bite from a food truck, purchase gifts and enjoy a summer evening at a beautiful downtown park. While having an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy a sense of community that some of us lack (myself included) during the Winter months.

I am the owner and maker of Silk Soapery and Simply Frozen Popsicles, so I may be a familiar face from the local vendor circuit.

My beautiful family includes one sweet and spicy daughter, a wonderful husband and a furry best friend (our dog) who keeps life full of energy and laughter. We love getting outside - especially heading up to the mountains for camping trips, fresh air, and some good old-fashioned adventure. Spending time with my family and friends keeps me inspired, and I'm excited to bring that same good vibe to everything I do.

About the Market

When the temperatures drop and the snow begins to fall, Butte doesn’t go quiet—we come together.

The Butte Community Market -Winter Edition was created not just to offer fresh, local, and handmade goods during the off-season, but to serve as a gathering place for our community when we need it most.

For farmers and makers, it’s a vital opportunity to continue sharing their work beyond the growing season. For our neighbors, it’s a chance to shop local, eat well, and discover unique Butte-made products you won’t find anywhere else.

But more than anything, the Winter Market is about connection. It’s a warm, welcoming space to see familiar faces, support small businesses, and feel a sense of belonging—even when the snow is falling outside.

In Butte, winter can be long. But with good food, local artisans, and shared moments, it can also be something beautiful.

As we grow, we are excited to offer bands a new spot to get their name out into the community, sponsored activities that support local artists and companies and educational opportunities to support a healthy Butte.

If there is something you would like to see at the market, email us!
